2013 NBA Finals - Practice Day And Media Availability
Most media establishments will preview the NBA Finals but it will probably be from one or more of these angles: Tim Duncan’s “trash talk”, Lebron’s quest for a 3 Peat, replaying Ray Allen’s big shot back and forth 10,000 times, Pop’s  coaching greatness, who will be the X factor or something to that extent. First, let me say when the Big Fundamental said, “we’re going to do it this time” that in NO WAY shape or form was trash talk. AKA media hype but I digress.

Here at AGSH we like to focus on the finer, hidden points of the game. So I will compare the cities of San Antonio and Miami.

My view of San Antonio will not be as humiliating as Charles Barkley’s take on how women in San Antonio love to eat churros. Even though that was pretty funny.

The difference in two teams on the court are a perfect symmetry to the contrasting styles off the court. One city is upbeat, fast paced, filled with celebs and the greatest set of beaches ever. And the other…well let’s just say it’s not as glamour filled.

Here are some other comparisons Miami and San Antonio

The Heat on the court : Three big stars who love the spotlight. Even their big shot off the court, Pat Riley, loves to be the center of attention, evident by this video of a duet with Jimmy Buffett.

The Spurs on the court: Their big three hates the attention of the media. I mean they were crowned Westen Conference champs in their locker room with only 5-6 players on camera. Coach Pop was out of the limelight and off camera by the way and is famous for his one word interviews.

San Antonio: #36 TV market, according to Nielsen- 4th smallest market for an NBA city.

Miami: #16 TV market, according to Nielsen.

San Antonio off the court: Known for the Alamo, the Riverwalk, Tower of Americas, Majestic Theatre and other historic sites.  When you go to Trip Advisor the #1 attraction is the San Antonio Western Shooting attraction. #Snoozer. And I never heard Stephen A. Smith excited about going to San Antonio for the NBA Finals.

Miami off the court: But you better believe Stephen A. loves going to Myamee for the NBA Finals every year.

Where do I begin with South Beach? First, “taken my talents to San Antonio” doesn’t have the same ring to it.

You can go to Mekka Nightclub, Club Liv, the Rose Bar, Sunset Lounge, Bar 50, Area 31 and the list goes on and on. Maybe you’re not a club person and you prefer the great outdoors? Well you can go sailing, diving, canoeing, kayaking…you get the point.  All in one place, yes South Beach!

Look at the two images above. Where would you rather be?

Don’t get me wrong, I am a historical Jesse so San Antonio has some places full of history I would love to visit. But let’s be real you can’t pass that up for the Miami. The saying goes, “Remember the Alamo” but it could be so boring you may want to forget the Alamo.

If the cities of Miami and San Antonio were going against each other there is no doubt in my mind this series will be a four game sweep.

There you have it, let the hate begin from San Antonio lovers. Just take it out on me and not my great teammates here at AGSH.
